Configurator and compliance

Semperit configurator work is handled through measurable material controls, not absolute claims.

This page uses the compliance-oriented SUS-E layout specified by the manifest. The focus is practical for B2B buyers: document what can be verified, reduce avoidable waste, route restricted-substance questions, and connect product choices to the customer's own packaging, assembly, or maintenance targets. Semperit does not need exaggerated phrases to be useful. A responsible roadmap can cover liner waste, solvent use, roll efficiency, sample discipline, product durability, and documentation controls while leaving final certification claims to the appropriate audited evidence.

Structured ESG table

Material decisions are easier to review when the configurator question is separated by evidence type.

TopicBuyer QuestionSemperit Review Path
Liner and roll wasteCan the program reduce changeovers, scrap, or discarded release liner?Review roll format, slit width, die-cut nesting, liner handling, and assembly station usage.
Substance documentationWhich restricted substance or customer list must be checked?Route REACH, RoHS, packaging, automotive, or customer-specific statements through the correct document request.
Process energyCan tape bonding avoid a higher-energy fastening or curing step?Compare assembly sequence, dwell time, pressure, and whether mechanical fasteners or heat steps can be reduced.
DurabilityDoes a better tape choice prevent premature replacement or rework?Match adhesive chemistry and carrier type to UV, chemical, temperature, and mechanical exposure before release.

Certification checklist

Request the evidence relevant to the product, region, and customer specification.

REACH and SVHC review

For European supply and customer material declarations, identify the exact product and current restricted-substance request.

RoHS documentation

For electrical and electronics applications, route product-specific declarations where relevant to the final assembly.

Food and packaging contact questions

Clarify whether the tape contacts product, packaging equipment, secondary packaging, or only external logistics surfaces.

Customer restricted list

Send the customer's substance list, region, and part number so documentation work does not rely on broad assumptions.

Selection considerations with both sides visible

Silicone versus fluoroelastomer

Silicone supports a broad temperature window and weathering resistance, while fluoroelastomer is often screened for hydrocarbon and aggressive-fluid exposure. Neither choice is universal: compression set, swell, cure system, hardness and actual media exposure decide the service fit.

TPE versus vulcanized rubber

TPE can shorten molding cycles and allow reprocessing of clean runner material; vulcanized rubber can retain sealing behavior in demanding heat and dynamic service. Compare Shore hardness, tensile strength, tear strength and compression set under the intended duty cycle.

Repeatable screening path

Where the cited method calls for it, condition specimens at 23°C and 50% relative humidity, record lot number and specimen geometry, run the named ASTM or ISO method, retain an untreated control, and report the value with units and acceptance criterion.

Limitations remain explicit: typical datasheet values are not release specifications; compatibility is media-, concentration-, stress- and time-dependent; and declarations are grade-, site-, market- and revision-specific. Request the current lot-specific CoA with the applicable TDS, SDS or scoped declaration before approval.

Ask for the configurator evidence your approval gate actually needs.
